Jo Ellis
A Note From Jo
Balance was formed around 20 years ago after researching the latest developments in the health and fitness industry in America. During my research, I was completely blown away with the amount of organisations benefitting enormously by promoting wellbeing in their workplace or any organisation. Back then in England, the focus was more on promoting health clubs. It occurred to me after talking to hundreds of patients in hospital, that health clubs didn’t really work for everyone.
My Vision
My vision of creating a unique health, fitness and wellness service was to purely reach out to those people who hadn’t either given their wellbeing a thought, or for people who didn’t like going to the gym and for those who are so busy they simply have not got the time. This is something that I continue with on my journey, reaching out to people that would like an extra support system from someone who genuinely cares about their health and wellness. This has made a huge significant difference in the lives of many people I’ve worked with.
Why?
You may be asking, why? My father worked very hard all of his life. He was one of those hard to reach individuals who was silently stressed at work. Despite smoking heavily and having bad eating habits, he did have an interest in golf, bowling, line dancing and clay pigeon shooting. However, they were not implemented enough on a regular basis to make a significant difference on his health. My father sadly died at the age of 54 and it was at this stage in my life, at 27, my own wellbeing journey began.
